COMMUNITY NORMS AND GUIDELINES OF CONDUCT
In What Matters, we operate under the following norms, and we will do our best to hold each other accountable to them. We also hold space for creating new norms with each unique cohort. The purpose of these norms is to set a tone for how we will interact as a group during the course of our time together.
-Vulnerability should be like a yoga routine– feel free to push yourself a little, but please don’t risk hurting yourself.
-Be aware of how much “air-time” you take in class. Be mindful of other students’ air-time as well as your own.
-Take care of yourself! This class will be talking about some difficult things. Only you know what you need. Please be mindful of potential impacts on your classmates, and take good care of yourself during this time.
-Please advocate for any disability accommodations you need, take space if you need it, and ask for support when needed.
-Within the constructs of this class, please take care of your body! (This means stretching when necessary, eating if you need to, etc.)
-Assume good intentions and avoid defensiveness regarding your impact.
-Respect confidentiality. Remember to check with someone before talking to them about something they brought up in class!
Yes, I understand.
